Update WebAsyst Shop-Script, SimplaCMS

I provide upgrade services from older versions of Shop-Script such as Premium, Pro and Free to WebAsyst Shop-Script 4.

WebAsyst Shop-Script 4 makes it possible to transfer content from your old store to Shop-Script Premium, Pro or Free using the automatic data transfer wizard.

After updating, all page addresses of products and categories are saved.

During and after the data transfer, the old store continues to work uninterruptedly and this will not affect its performance in any way

Update procedure within one server:

1. In the root of your old store, create a subfolder with an arbitrary name, for example, webasyst.
2. Install WebAsyst Shop-Script 4 according to installation instructions in the subfolder you created in the previous step.
3. Go to WebAsyst Installer and follow the link "Shop-Script FREE, PRO, PREMIUM" and copy all data from the old store according to the prompts of the automatic data transfer wizard.
4. Unfortunately, automatic updating does not transfer your old design to the new store due to significant differences in the structure of the software part of the old and new versions of Shop-Script. Our specialists, who have many years of experience in adapting design templates from Shop-Script Premium/Pro/Free to WebAsyst Shop-Script 4, will help you in this matter.
5. Finally, enable the necessary store settings for payment and delivery methods, currencies, customer registration form, and so on.
6. Upon completion of all design work and setting up the necessary parameters of the new store, replace the old store with a new one:
   • move all the files of the old store to a subfolder with an arbitrary name, for example, old;
   • move the new store files to the root of the site instead of the old one;
   • go to WebAsyst Installer "Settings -> General settings" and enter "Path to install WebAsyst", in our case it is just a slash "/".

This update can be considered complete.

Update procedure on different servers

If the old and new versions of the store are located on different servers, the update takes place in this order:

1. Export the old store database through a program that, as a rule, is available on any hosting, namely phpMyAdmin, or any other similar program in the hosting control panel.
2. Import the database on the server where the new store is installed. Database data can be transferred directly to the database of a new store without fear; this will not only not disrupt its performance, but will facilitate the update procedure.
3. Transfer product photos and category logos from the old store to the new one, copy them from the /products_pictures folder of the old store to your computer, and then upload them to the /published/publicdata/DATABASE_KEY/attachments/SC/products_pictures folder of the new store. Also transfer the digital product files from the /products_files folder to /data/DATABASE_KEY/attachments/SC/products_files of the new store.
